Learning Play Electronic Poker

Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your PC, using an Internet connection. The regulations are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A five card hand will then be "handed out" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced gamblers are able to choose the most money-making ones each time.

As soon as the first round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, some styles of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to increase their profits, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
