How to Play Electronic Poker
Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your PC, using an Internet account. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the best assemblage of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that skillful players are agile enough to pick the most money-making machine every time.
After the first round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game allow the player an opportunity to increase their profits, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing aspects to enhance playability.
